Festival of Lights Pageant
Saturday, Nov. 26,
5 p.m.
We are so excited to bring this pageant back to our community. This pageant has an affordable entry fee of $10 and all proceeds go back to organizations in our community.
Our crowned court will be featured and apart of Port Lavaca Chamber of Commerce Christmas parade, Tree lighting ceremony, Merry on Main and more. This is a great opportunity to give back to our community and be apart of all the holiday festivities.
Here is some information regarding the pageant:
We are asking all contestants to arrive on November 26th to Main Street Theatre at 4:30 PM to check in. If you wish to pay entry fee of $10 in person you can do that when you check in. We will begin with our Mister division. After our Mister division is crowned we will move into our Little Miss. The Junior Miss division will begin after Little Miss division is crowned. Miss will begin after Junior Miss is crowned and our final division will be our Queen contestants.
If your child wins a title we ask that they please remain at the pageant until the Queen division is complete so we can get a group picture for the newspaper. You are welcome to take a walk on Main Street and enjoy our local businesses but please stay close so we can get that group picture of all our queens and king!
Pageant run down:
🎄MISTER AND LITTLE MISS:
*1 parent will be allowed backstage for our Mister and Little Miss division.
For our Mister and Little Miss division they will be introduced with their name and age as they walk on the stage. There will be 3 X's taped to the floor for guidance where to stop and look at the judges. The emcee will then ask them a holiday themed question.
Questions will be age appropriate and kid friendly. Please don't stress about the questions. 🙂
Examples- What is your favorite Christmas movie? What is your favorite Christmas song?
We will line all contestants back on stage as judges tally the winners. During this time we will have festive Christmas music on that the kiddos are welcome to dance and sing to. We want this pageant to be fun!
🎄JUNIOR MISS, MISS & QUEEN
For our Junior Miss, Miss and Queen divisions each contestant will be introduced with their name as they walk on the stage. They will then go to the emcee and say a brief introduction.
Introduction example: Hello my name is -----, I attend ----- school and in the ---- grade. I enjoy (any hobbies, sports, activities). Introduction should not be longer than 1 minute. Once Introduction is complete the emcee will then ask a holiday themed question. We encourage our older contestants to answer questions with details. This is your contestants time to show judges how you will represent our community during our Christmas season.
Question example: If you could give to an organization what organization and why?
What is your favorite family Christmas tradition?
Once all contestants have gone we will line up all contestants on stage and crown winners based on judges votes.
Attire for all divisions: Formal wear or Sunday Best. Christmas colored dresses etc is welcomed but not required. 🙂
We ask all audience members to please be respectful for each contestant's time to shine on stage.
We look forward to seeing you all at our holiday pageant! You do not want to miss this opportunity to be apart of our community Christmas festivities. Our crowns are gorgeous and ready for a new court to represent Calhoun County.

Hallmark in the Park
The holiday season is upon us, and with that comes all the sappy Christmas movies. You know what we are talking about – those movies where everything seems to be centered around some sort of winter festival. The girls comes back to town, connects with old friends, and crosses path the guy and then the guy gets the girl… or some variation of that?
In those movies, everything is beautifully decorated, there’s crackling fires, snow and people roasting chestnuts and drinking cocoa and all the things that leave everyone happy and in the holiday spirit.
That’s what Hallmark in the Park is all about. Your ticket includes a smorgasbord of cold weather food and beverages and all the Christmas treats you seen only seen on TV or read about - roasted chestnuts, sugar plums, and so much more.
If you enjoyed the Chuckwagon Extravaganza, you will love this! We don’t promise that you will get the guy, but you can bring your own or come with friends. Whether you are single, dating or have been married forever, you'll have a great time at this event! And you never know what surprises we might throw in throughout the night.
